Teaching Philosphy

“If you're willing to give everything you have to learn, I will give everything I have to teach you to be the best musician you can be. I want my students to not only be educated on the horn as well as the many styles the saxophone calls for, but I want them to believe that playing the instrument is a fun experience! I've seen first hand that students who learn in an atmosphere where practicing isn't considered "a chore" become highly successful on their instruments, wanting to learn as much as they possibly can. If I know the student is doing the best they can, we will work together to keep creating new milestones. With that said, I know every student is not the same. Some students understand various concepts better than others, vice versa. Every classroom has its own unique community; my role as the teacher will be to assist each student in developing their own potential and learning styles. I will present a curriculum that will incorporate each different learning style, as well as make the content relevant to the students' lives. I want each student to feel some sort of love for creating music as I do. Afterall, we create music to express ourselves through wonderful sounds!”
